My question is this; is it better to pursue monetary/economic gain or to develop a society where it is not needed?
Pros of Economic Gain and Advancement
- A constant strive for a higher standard of living.
- Opening the boarders to workers that have desired skills.
- Development of jobs.
- Globalizations of a world market.
The above was my futile attempt to condone the pursuits of a capitalist system. What more is a capitalist system than, as put by Scott, my fellow traveler, but to have people believe, to feel it necessary, to cram as much/many possessions they can in and around their persons. As I put it, a preoccupation to try and fulfill the spiritual lacking with material items, so companies and those of power and wealth may remain in the fleeting sense of present and maintain suppressing what should be a higher perception of life and self. In the end there are no pros of economic gain and advancement, and what we, believe due to programming, will be a sentence to the death of the soul.
Many will give up much but they will not forgo the existence and advancement of the medical industry. Though the medical industry in its current state could not advance, in the so-called world, without modern technology. Mankind fears what it cannot see, what lies beyond death and the power of the mind through faith and/or knowledge. Sure, it is possible to heal illness or disease with the mind but what about broken bones that puncture through the skin? Should we rush to a hospital? What would you do in out in the middle of nowhere and this happened? These things cannot be overcome while you remain unfree and confined!
