Sevgelim and I have arrived in Delhi. It is the first few hours and I am unable to sleep. We arrived at the Delhi airport and the hotel had a car waiting for us with a very polite driver. On arriving at the hotel, we changed to an a/c room as the non a/c room had no window and the air is warm. The fan overhead would have been OK with me but since it is, we, we changed. They had a festival last night in commemoration of a part of one of the epics where Rama…and like the other epic it was of much fighting.

The city is dirty but when I say dirty, I mean that, dirt, dust. It is covering everything at this time because the air is so dry and the traffic is stirring it up and it reaches high into the sky. Many people here just throw down a blanket and sleep out the night, or others have rather comfortable looking pallets outside next to the street and of course while others sleep within their domicile. When the sun rises along with Sevgilim, we will venture down to Connaught Palace and see what little difference the city shopping life is like in India.
