The wind today is howling and traveling at twenty-four knots, it is hard to stand unaided out on the deck. I am still keeping to my regiment of making rounds around the ship and up the steps to the bridge and back down again for four laps after lunch. I meet up with the chief mate again today in passing while he was doing the same. He decided to turn around so, we would no longer pass each other, although not much was said the previous day. It is most likely quiet time for him and he does not wish for his thoughts to be interrupted at every passing. I for one can understand this since there was and still is a time that I require the same. The crew is painting the ship on the leeward side while we are underway, all else is quiet and every day becomes more serene and peaceful at sea.
